Will Smith model in the works!!

For a little while now, I've wanted to see if I could recreate celebrities. At first, I did Jim Carrey using the same method I used for Will Smith.

Rendered preview snapshot (without beard)

The way I made him here is not different from the few attempts, just starting from a sphere to stretch and layer it after remeshing to see what the finished result is. I only use two pictures, a front and a side profile, and just them alone will help get the shape right.

Low poly model (after retopology)

After the sculpting, I need to get over my fears and go ahead with the retopology stage, basically making a less dense shell of the sculpted model, so it'll save space and make it easier to rig.

Trying out the hair system in blender

One of the few problems I had while making this project, let alone the last few where I have tried to make real-life people in 3D, is that I could never do the eyes right even while looking at the reference pictures. Luckily, after a while, I managed to escape a thing called “the uncanny valley.” The uncanny valley is basically when you try to remake human features either in robotics or in CG like I did; sometimes there will be something off-putting about it. Luckily, I did some annotating on the reference pictures to see what makes him look the way he does.
